Welcome to Milk & Mycelium
I became a doula because I believe deeply in community, the importance of human connection, and the age-old tradition of people caring for one another through life's most intense transitions. That tradition has not always been valued or protected in our society, but there is immense power in reclaiming it. I focus on creating safe, dedicated spaces where women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and non-binary individuals feel fully supported, respected, and connected to the true significance of their own experiences.
My personal life journey, especially the births of my children, fundamentally shaped the way I practice today. I understand exactly how crucial it is to feel heard, safe, and protected while navigating spaces that are simultaneously vulnerable and transformative. Motherhood guides my empathy and dictates how I show up for every single person who welcomes me into their care circle.
Originally from South Carolina, I now call Denver home, where I live with my husband and our two beautiful children. Before stepping into my true calling as a full-spectrum doula, I spent 12 years working in the tech industry. That chapter taught me the value of clear communication, deep professionalism, sharp organization, and the ability to navigate complex situations with grounded care. I intentionally blend those practical, professional assets with the intuitive, deeply relational aspects of my support work. When I am not practicing, I love cooking, casual hiking, taking naps with my kids, and co-running a holistic mushroom business with my spouse.
My Philosophy & Approach
My practice style is calm, grounding, entirely nonjudgmental, and deeply adaptable. I want you to feel completely comfortable being your authentic self with me. You do not need to have the perfect words, know exactly what you want, or have everything figured out in advance. Wherever you are in your process, we can start right there.
Open and clear communication is the heartbeat of a successful partnership. I strive to fully comprehend what matters to you, what you are navigating, what fears or questions you hold, and how I can uniquely serve you. You can count on me to communicate transparently, follow through on every promise, and protect a space meant for honest conversations.
I firmly believe that you are the ultimate expert on your own body and experience. My job is to listen intently, help you gather evidence-based resources, offer a fresh perspective when helpful, and support you in making the independent choices that make sense for your circumstances. I deeply honor the wisdom found in both traditional lineages and Western medicine, valuing a balanced integration of both. There is no single "right" way to step through birth, illness, grief, or major life shifts. I am simply here to unpack your choices and help you find a path that honors your values.
Who I Support
As a full-spectrum doula, my work encompasses a wide range of human situations beyond just birth work. I am drawn to the full spectrum of what it means to be human, with a deep-seated interest in supporting:
High-Risk Pregnancies & Chronic Illness: Specialized care for individuals navigating complex medical parameters or chronic health conditions during pregnancy.
Lactation & Breastfeeding Education: Dedicated support and practical guidance for feeding your baby safely and comfortably.
Psychedelic Journey Support: Nonjudgmental integration care and companion services for internal navigation.
Profound Life Transitions: Grounded support through birth, postpartum, illness, depression, divorce, abortion, and end-of-life care.
Sometimes we need support as we welcome something new, sometimes as we let something go, and sometimes as we find our way through a season we never expected to be in. It is a true privilege to walk alongside you during these tender, life-altering moments.
